  1. i’m in love with my version of the Carrots N Cake 3-minute cookie – i added Amazing Grass chocolate superfood instead of flour, plus some chocolate chips…HOLY YUM! you are one lucky girl getting those awesome samples :)

  2. Merry Mary says:

Hehe I always seem to eat scrambled eggs and toast in the morning. It’s my favorite I guess, although super simple.

I really want to try this Amazing Grass stuff. I’ve gotta look into that.

  3. I really like Angela’s pumpkin spelt scuffins [http://ohsheglows.com/2009/10/24/pumpkin-chia-spelt-scuffins/] for breakfast with vegan margarine. I think they are so yummy and so good for you.

Green Monsters will always win though – spinach, fresh juice, rice milk, ice and xanthan gum. So yummy! They give me so much energy and they’re the perfect light breakfast before the gym.

I love that you put your meal plan on here! I am nosy and love reading what other people are eating!

  4. Eggs, sprouted toast and greens is my go-to breakfast!

  5. I’m a cereal girl for sure. I do love the amazing grass products, I even put the chocolate meal into oatmeal!

  6. Lisa says:

My go to breakfast is definitely oats :)
Love the look of the Amazing Meal – I am yet to find some in Australia :(

  7. Erin says:

Yay for blenders! Smoothie looks yum! My favorite to go breakfast is a toasted sandwich thin with a schmear of guacamole and a poached egg. It’s a strange combo, but it’s darn good!

  8. I almost always eat oatmeal for breakfast. I also received some Amazing Grass samples, and I can’t wait to try them!

I love your meals this week. I’m not really planning meals while my mom is here, and I feel a bit “lost”…

  9. Jenny says:

I’m not really a smoothie type of gal, but knowing how healthy that Amazing Grass is, I would probably give it a try :)

I love prepping overnight oats the night before, knowing I don’t have to “make” breakfast in the morning is the best! And the fact that they are delicious is a plus!

  10. katie says:

DANG! coming over for dinner every night!!
LOVE your pb and J CC idea! YUM
i <3 pumpkin pb oats for breakfast..gets the job done!

  11. Chrysta says:

Looks awesome girl. I love the Amazing grass stuff. So yumm! You meals that you are planning sounds awesome!! Good luck with all your fun gym classes too. For breakfast right now im into making up a serving of oats and mixing it with greek yogurt and topping it with apple slices. So good!!! Have a wonderful day!

  12. That is an awesome blender! I really like the Amazing Grass stuff, but sometimes think it tastes gritty.

  13. my go-to easy breakfast is a turkey bacon/egg/fat-free cheese muffin! I love them and they fill me up!

The word “grainy” makes me nervous, but of course I appreciate your honestly! I’m not a big smoothie gal anyways! Hope your classes go well this week and that it helps make your decision easier!

  14. congrats on the new blender and the AG. I think once we realize that yes, there will be grit, as plant based nutrition, AG is great. It’s a mindset adjustment, first, though. Plant based product, esp that which contains hemp, will never be smoooooth like whey or soy protein even. My .02 of course :)

  15. Lauren says:

Glad you got to sample the grass! It’s nice to have these for smoothies but I can’t drink them straight up. Really, it’s awful, and I don’t understand why so many others put themselves through that. Makes me want to gag just thinking about it! :)

Love your dinner menu this week. We are having Salmon on Wednesday night too! :)

  16. Katharine says:

Definitely oatmeal. And if I need an extra boost, a green monster! Not very original, but VERY delicious!

  17. legalstyle says:

Although Deb recently mentioned that she thinks I’m a closet food blogger, I am not – I’m not healthy enough! My (seriously, everyday) breakfast is a sesame bagel with lots (lots) of cream cheese with about 3 cups of coffee and soymilk. It is my absolute favorite meal of the day and I wouldn’t give it up for anything!

  18. Jenna says:

Hmmm, I have two go to breakfasts. Banana oats and pb banana toast/bagel. Both have my heart.

I would make smoothies more often if I didn’t go to the gym before work. Oh, and if it wasn’t 20 degrees outside. :)

  19. Puuuurrty blender- I like the cover with the little space for your finger to go, for quick release action!

Hmm I think I tried amazing grass once- I remember HEABS nickname for it- in the spirit of kindness I shall not repeat it here. :-)

Staying tuned about the david vs goliath gym battle. You KNOW where I would end up.

Thank for the link love on the photo/nut butter contest! The more the merrier of course!

  20. april says:

I’m not a big fan of the Amazing Grass plain (I tried it mixed with water and milk once.. yuck!!) But it is pretty good in smoothies!

  21. Another Amazing Grass fan. I tried everything to make it more palatable. Couldn’t do it.

May I come over for dinner on Friday? Please? ;)

These days, I’m loving eggs and bacon for breakfast. So yummy.

  22. vera says:

    Hey girl!
My go-to breakfast is oatbran with a banana and pb! :D
if i dont have much time, ill just top a vitatop with pb and head out!

  23. bhealthier says:

i loved my amazing grass samples!!! They do have a grainy taste but they are so healthy – i just can feel the nutrients doing their amazing things. :)

  24. Tiffany says:

i love amazing grass and how good it makes my body feel! i used to make smoothies all the time during the spring and summer with them, but now in the winter, i can’t bring myself to drink something with ice/frozen fruit! when i was on a trial membership with a gym, i also took a class everyday for a week, just to try a little bit of everything with the limited time that i had. it’s fun! :)

  25. Your menu for this week’s looking good! And I’m not really a fan of smoothies made out of um, grass flavor thingies but I’m glad you liked ‘em.

  26. Gotta love upgrades! There’s just something about knowing that better things will come that makes waiting worth it.

  27. Therese says:

Lately I’ve been obsessed with Janetha’s “yoatgurt”…1/3 c cooked oats mixed with 1 scoop protein powder, let it cool and mix with Greek yogurt. SOOOO good and filling!

The menu looks great! I’ve been meaning to give carrot fries a try.

  28. Serena says:

I actually *love* Amazing Grass Chocolate. I mix it with Tempt hemp milk and I think it tastes GREAT :D

  29. Susan says:

I had the EXACT same thoughts on the chocolate amazing meal. I would be unimpressed if I ordered a chocolate milkshake and got that taste, but I’m pretty impressed with it given the ingredients. And like you said, you can never go wrong with chocolate ;)

Yay for trying out new exercise classes!! They are what make my membership to a big gym 100% worth it. I go to around 3 classes a week that are included in my membership. Plus, the weight area is huge and inspires me to try out different lifting routines :)

My go-to breakfast is custard oats with a glob of nut butter. It keeps me satisfied for up to four hours, which I rarely get with any other meal.

  30. caronae says:

I really like the amazing grass bars but haven’t tried the smoothie mix yet.
My go to brekkie is oats. Lots and lots of oats :)

  31. Marie says:

Hi Lara – I wanted to drop a note and let you know I really love your blog. It’s a different perspective than the other healthy eating blogs. :)

  32. Michelle says:

Hi Lara! I so appreciate your honesty on Amazing Grass. I’ve only tried their bars and have been surprised at how yummy they are, but I agree with you – things immediately start tasting better when you know it’s good for you!!!

I’m not a fan of grittiness, but since you mentioned the flavor is there, it might be somethin i’ll try in the future…for now…I don’t have a fancy blender like yours so I’m still a smoothie virgin. hahaha :)

  33. julie says:

oh wordddd that blender is swanky girl :) glad you put it to some excellent usage! amazing grass hooked you up for sure! i’m not a fan of the amazing grass stuff but i hope you find good and yummy ways to use!

mmm my go-to bfast has been yogurt and oats!

  34. eatingRD says:

so you did get the blender? Did it include a camera? :) I like amazing grass too, especially with all the added ingredients, but it does seem to make my tummy feel funny and noisy with those probiotics and added starches lol Isn’t it funny how when most of the population thinks of something healthy it automatically = yuck, but with us it tastes extra good!

  35. You know i really tried to like AG, but the graining taste just was too much for me

  36. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Amazing Grass. For all the greens that are in that little packet, it tastes soo good. The chocolate is by far my favorite flavor. I think I like the greens better than the meal. Also-I love that you are so organized with your dinners. I like planning out the entire week myself, but have really been slacking in the cooking department lately. Can’t wait to see all the good eats.

  37. Oh and p.s. that blender looks beautiful! I dream of having a blender like that. (who says that?!?!)

  38. Holly says:

APPLE BACON FRITTATA?!?! that sounds amazing.

i am not a huge fan of the amazing grass, but their stats are indeed mucho impressive. hope you are well dear lara!!!

  39. I love, love, love Amazing Grass – especially the chocolate kind! Yum!

My favorite go-to breakfast? I adore steel-cut oats. Smoothies are fantabulous, too…. but nothing hits the spot like a fresh, raw carrot-spinach juice. Delish! ;-)

    *smiles*
    Michele

  40. Biz says:

Lara – love the meal planning – your Friday night recipe has me intrigued! Not that Tony would ever eat it, but I would love it!

    Happy almost Friday!

Um, pretty sure my go to breakfast has CHEESE in it! :D

  41. Lara, I completely agree with you when you say that things start to taste better what you know they are good for you. I have the chocolate powder Amazing Grass and it’s not really amazing, but I know it’s good for me and because of that it tastes a bit better :) It’s definitely tastier when it’s mixed with milk, more chocolate, and some berries, or even coffee!

I am doing a post on Amazing Grass sometime soon, you should read it. I used to swear by it but research isn’t too great when it comes to “wheat grass”. Either way, I love the product and I feel that I am getting at least some benefits from it.

  42. Ashlei says:

    Yum I love Amazing Grass!!

My go to breakfast lately has been 1/2 red grapefruit, and goat’s milk yogurt, frozen berries (usually blueberries) with hempseeds. Yummmmmm! :)
