Unpacking, Repacking
I am a sorting, cleaning, packing machine! While Matthew is in England wrapping up details of our life there, my job is to get everything ready to finally move in to our new apartment this weekend. That might not sound like a very big task, but I have stuff stored at both of my parents’ houses that has been there since I graduated from college two years ago, as well as all of my childhood “treasures.” Plus, we have been living here for a month now, so I just have stuff all over the place!
My eating habits have not been the best. I have not been eating breakfast until really late for some reason (some days as late as 10:30 despite waking up much earlier), and there has definitely been some stress/boredom eating going on (has anyone else ever experienced the phenomenon of being stressed and bored at the same time?!).
Maple oats with walnuts and cranberries
At any rate, I resolved to get back to healthy habits today. As far as other resolutions, those will have to wait until I am out from under this pile of boxes.
Here are just a few of the tens of boxes I have been going through. They were so dirty from storage that I had to sort through them outside. Luckily it was a beautiful day!
Lunch was thrown together, much like my life lately.
After the work came the play.
Behold, my our beautiful new Cuisinart MultiClad Unlimited set! I am so excited! This is my our first real set of pots and pans. I am starting to feel like a grown-up! Thanks, Mom, for the gift, and thanks Crate & Barrel, for the photo
Mom and I ate dinner at Pluto’s—one of my favorite places to get a salad. This is actually a recycled photo from last year, but I basically ordered the same thing tonight: green salad with various toppings and tri-tip steak.
Today’s eating is purely angelic compared to the past few days. I actually had Taco Bell for lunch on Sunday, and bread + wine for dinner last night. No excuses–I promise to be better!
Thank you for all the nice comments about my year in my 2009 recap post! I apologize for the sporadic posting, but things are so crazy right now that I can’t seem to stick to a regular blogging schedule. Hopefully next week will be better!
I hope to write a resolution post soon, but until then, this is what I am working on:
A very HAPPY New Year to all of you!
