  1. I have such a hard time when it comes to Chinese, too. I feel like a bottomless pit.

  2. Lu says:

I love won ton soup. I’m sure the workout went better than you thought it did. And you can totally do moderation…

  3. legalstyle says:

I want to pick up a spaghetti squash this weekend at the market. You’ve reminded me that I haven’t had one since last winter!

  4. The UK misses you! Come back to get your marriage certificate and we can go for coffee together :-)

Also, what does spaghetti squash taste like? What IS it? Do they have them in the UK? Did you spiralize it? I’m confused, lol.

  5. Erin says:

Does Kashi Go Lean Crunch remind you of Sugar Smacks? Maybe I’m the only one…

I haven’t gotten much done this week, too busy shoveling. :-( Today probably won’t be very productive, either, as I need to catchup on my blog reading! :-P

  6. Yasmin says:

Spaghetti squash is on my list of things to try next. Thanks for reminding me. I love the Jillian M. Banish Fat Boost Metabolism workout but to really benefit I need that full hour or so to complete which I hardly have time for. I like the first 4 circuits only though.

  7. ellie says:

That’s the DVD I ordered- do I need any special equipment or lots of space? I just realised it’s a US DVD so I’ll only be able to watch it on my laptop. So if there’s not enough room inside, I’ll go on the street :P

Productive week? Kinda ;) Though my blog would say otherwise. Ooops.

    • Thinspired says:

I only got about halfway through, but the part I saw did not require any equipment. It was a lot of squats/kickboxing stuff. Spacewise, you don’t need too much compared to many of the other videos I have used!

Let me know what you think of it when you get it. I’d be curious to hear what the other half is like ;)

  8. julie says:

wow i think you had a productive day :)

i’m tryyyying to be productive but i’m finding myself doing too much blog lurching! like for example…right now?

ha! have a productive day girl!

  9. I’m horrid with Chinese food. I love it all. My husband makes fun of me sometimes by suggesting we eat Chinese and giggles when my eyes light up.

  10. VeggieGirl says:

Very productive, yes – but all this schoolwork is killing me! :(

  11. Melissa S. says:

very productive! and glad you got to the that DVD…as much as i hate that woman, i kinda want to try one of her videos.

and so glad you like spaghetti squash…i need to go buy some asap! i miss it!

  12. Thanks for the link love. I always see those random links within sentences and hope that one day I will be one of them. YAY! Reminds me that I need to stock back up on some kabocha too. :) Apparently my local Whole Foods doesn’t carry it…

I’ve always been too chicken to show me doing a workout video, way to go. You look good, I’ve never tried that specific Jillian video.

Oh, and thanks for the review on the yogurt, if it really is similar to Greek it could save me a ton of money!

  13. Katie says:

Lady I would love to hear about the JillM dvds, I do INSANITY and I want to add new things!

Chinese food is strange for me. I feel like I can eat a ton, but then feel disgusting afterwards.

  15. props to you for braving the DMV and SS in one day.. I had to spread my visits out when I changed my name for my sanity. lol

I love Chinese but no matter how many fresh veggies and “healthy” options I choose I am always stuffed and feel like crud afterwards!

  16. Haleigh says:

It sounds to me that you have been very productive… the DMV and social security offices in one day is very brave!

  17. april says:

I haven’t had chinese food in so long.. but everytime I come to your blog I crave it! haha.

  18. Semi-productive is better than unproductive! My week has been bussssssyyyyyy–but I can’t pinpoint exactly what I’ve gotten done? Haha.

Love the Chinese. And I’m with you on the spaghetti squash! I’d take it over kabocha any day (I’ve actually never tried kabocha haha–but I just KNOW it’d pale in comparison…)

  19. Lauren says:

Jillian Michale’s Boost workout is killer!!! Great job on the “at-home” workout!

Glad you are loving the spaghetti squash! It’s awesome! I love how it has that nutty taste that pasta just doesn’t have.

Sounds like you are having a great time so far. Keep enjoying yourself hun!

  20. Productive? I think so, but I really can’t think of much that I have accomplished this week. So maybe not. :)

I’ve never had Nancy’s yogurt, but I always admire it in the story. I love the design on the label. Very girly and fun.

Looks like you ate very well at dinner. Lots of veggies and time with your dad and hubby. Sounds perfect to me.

Hope you have a wonderful Friday my fellow lover of squash. :)

  21. Haha, I think I’ve asked that same question regarding washing my hair or posting … and, yes, posting usually wins! ;)

  22. Susan says:

Look at you doing the at-home workouts!! Who needs a gym? ;) I’m pumped for my new Jillian Michael’s DVDs. I love that you have a lunch dessert. Every meal requires on in my humble opinion!

This week has been productive in that I’ve managed to work tons, get some studying in, do a little cleaning, work out and eat relatively well! Guess I can’t ask much more from life :)

  23. I haven’t been super productive lately, but I am okay with that. Makes up for times when I an WAAAAY overproductive! Take it easy, and it will all fall into place!

  24. katie says:

girl that sounds like a productive day today! how is that bar? thats one i havent tried!

  25. You did well with the Chinese food! :) I have a hard time controlling myself too when it comes to Chinese food. I think that’s why we haven’t had it in ages…

I have had a productive week so far, but I can’t wait to get all my grading done and over with!!!!

  26. Liz says:

Pretty productive. I managed to send some insurance papers I’ve been meaning to submit for like…6 months. I’m getting married to a Canadian, and taking his name…I’m already dreading all the documents i’ll have to change..

  27. sophia says:

Haha! This is called commitment…to post when you should be washing your hair!

    Hm. I haven’t had Chinese in a long time…

  28. Looks so yum!

I have had a productive week gearing up for my sister’s wedding tomorrow…we are in decorating mode today! Should be fun!

  29. Jillian’s banish fat boost metabolism is hardcore! It kills me everytime- have been having to stick to no more trouble zones though since I sprained my ankle :(

  30. Yay for kicking your own ass with Jillian’s help! That’s very productive.

Gah on the marriage certificate. I’m surprised you didn’t need it to get into the country?!

Love Chinese food- did I tell you that we go to Chinatown almost every time we go to the cancer center for my dad’s routine appts? Let’s just say that I eat Chinese a lot!

Productive-HECK NO!! I’ve been in Canada trying to stay warm! :-) But I have actually written a couple of posts, so I guess that’s productive. Horribly behind on my beloved Blog reading though!

    Have a great day!

  31. Erin says:

Productive? Yes, pretty much so, I’d say. :)

Oh Jillian. You are killer. Betch.

  32. I think it’s fine to be only semi-productive once in a while. Let’s slack off sometimes. LOL. Chinese food is yum indeed! I know, I am not helping! :)

  33. elise says:

meh. kanbocha is blah compared to spagh squash. love it!

what did you think of that jocolat bar btw? im not sure i really like them…

  34. Bekah says:

I think when I have the fear of eating too much, I eat less. Seriously, when I eat my healthy, fresh food, I shovel it down like nobody’s business. Haha.

Oh Lara, your cute working out self will feel back to normal in no time. I have a feeling you’ll jump back from the minimal workouts soon enough. :)

  35. Michal says:

I love squash of all kinds! This week I have been productive so far, but today is going to be a busy one. I have to hit up the gym, go to yearbook for school and then work until tonight all with no breaks! Boo!

    Enjoy your weekend :)

  36. Maria says:

The Chinese food looks awesome! We don’t have good Chinese food here in Seattle (well, at least the ones I’ve tried and from what I hear), and would love to try those tofu and veggies. I love black bean sauce!

I gotta get back to work soon…but finals are over in a week :) So I have to be productive!

  37. Erin says:

Good for you on chinese food moderation! I agree – SO hard to do with that cuisine. Now I really want some…:)

  38. Holly says:

laraaaa…i am just catching up on your move back the the USA and i have one thing to say: YOUR NIECE AND NEPHEW ARE SOOOOO CUTE! seriously. the pictures of them chasing each other around are precious!

also, chinese food isn’t my fave, but i feel the same way about moderation with indian buffets. gah, a girl could really go wild there (aka me).

glad you are settling in, having wonderful times with family and friends and ENJOYING life – even if the marriage license got left in england. good luck with everything!

    love ya!

  39. Biz says:

I am with you on the spaghetti squash! I bought kobacha (sp?) once and thought it was disgusting.

I actually am going to be making a spaghetti squash lasagna for my lunch this week! :D

  40. Abby says:

I often do the “to wash or not to wash” debate in my head (usually Sundays)and probably spending more time deciding than it would actually take to wash and dry it. However, they say it’s not good to wash it every day, so I use that as a justification.

I would say a fun dinner out for your favorite food is the most productive way to spend your time…

  41. Hayley says:

Yummmm…your eats look so good! Sorry I’m so behind on your blog lately – I can’t even seem to keep up with my own anymore. :)

  42. Wow, just found your blog and love it! Love the look and your writing style. And of course that you write about nutrition and exercise : )

Looking forward to following! It was a productive week, but I still didn’t get everything done!

  43. Jillian Michael’s is insane! I always barely survive her workouts :)

I have yet to try spaghetti squash… I should probably get on that!

  44. I would love to be as productive as you are Lara! I hope that things are going well for you now that you are stateside again.

I’ve tried spaghetti squash and it was good. The only thing for me is that I need about 3 big ones to feed the whole family!

  45. I think I need Jillin Michaels in my life! Today I walked 4 miles, paid 5 bills and read blogs… super productive, right?!!

  46. kinda productive I guess…
I could eat spaghetti squash everyday! so good!

  47. Megan says:

I tried spaghetti squash this weekend w/ my favorite tomato sauce and could NOT believe how good it was!!! Also, don’t you wish Jillian Michaels could be your trainer!!? Or is that just me..?

  48. Paige (RAN) says:

That sucks you left the marriage cert in England! :(
I agree Chinese is very easy to overdo!

  49. Love your blog! I am about to graduate college and I’m constantly looking for inspiration on achieving a healthier lifestyle. I’m chronicling my journey and loving every minute of it. Thanks for the great insight! xxJenna
