Thank You’s
Phew, I am feeling better today! Two good nights of sleep is all that I needed
Now that I am, more or less, feeling normal again, I want to take this opportunity to thank the TSA for not confiscating the many food items I smuggled brought into the country.
Among these food items were about ten boxes of Girl Scout cookies (you know, for my husband, of course), two boxes of cereal, two boxes of Annie’s Mac & Cheese, two cartons of Almond Breeze, three boxes of Dr. Kracker crackers, some Trader Joe’s salsa, pumpkin butter, Barney Butter, brown rice rice crispy treats, and various bars.
Let’s just say that my packing skills are improving over time. My mom was helping me pack and I was going crazy trying to fit this all into my suitcase. She would try to stuff a sweater in a shoe and I would shout, “Mom! Leave the sweater! Pack the Barney Butter!”
Speaking of Mom and thank you’s, I should also thank her for slipping my washed and ironed pyjamas in my suitcase amongst all the food
They have that “mom laundry” smell that I can’t seem to replicate. And I never take the time to iron my pyjamas. I can barely iron my husband’s shirts. (Correction: I don’t actually iron them. He does.) Thanks, Marmy!

In the spirit of all of this food, I also want to spread the word about Project Feed Me. Natalie has all of the information on her blog here. It looks like a wonderful cause and is available for US and Canadian folks to participate. Please check it out!
I am just about how to head out to the gym for my first indoor workout in about two weeks. Remarkably, the scale seems to be showing a one-pound loss from when I left on my trip. I am not buying it. I feel different. Off to remedy that.
Happy Friday!

I bow down to your smuggling abilities ~ if I was lucky enough to be able to visit the US or Canada I would be exactly the same…actually, scratch that, I’d be wearing clothes with extra pockets sewn in just to get more Larabars, Almond Breeze and PB&Co back into the country with me.
So sorry you had such an awful flight! It must have been a nightmare and I hope you’re totally recovered from it by now.
Those are some seriously stylish PJs! I actually thought they were a regular outfit until I read otherwise.
I’d take a one-pound loss any day! I hope you’re not feeling too negative about yourself because judging by your pic you look no different at all ~ just as beautiful as ever *hugs*.
xoxoxx
Love the PJs! Very chic
I know you are going to soooo enjoy your smuggled food! Funny about leave the sweater and pack the Barney! I’d do exactly the same thing!
I hope the scale number is a reassuring reminder that you *can* find balance with food, fitness and the ones you love. You are so inspiring to me! x
Have a great weekend!
Glad you are feeling better, and I totally know what you mean about mom laundry smell!
OH MAN that is some loot!
I have never heard of anyone ironing pj’s lol. Seems like something Danny Tanner would do from Full House

Wow I love the smuggled eats! I would totes travel with Almond Breeze too! I am interested in making my own almond milk, but I can not find a nut milk bag at any health food stores, only online. Girl Scout cookies!!!! Samoas are the best! Glad to hear you are feeling better..grrr jet lag is such a drag! Have a lovely weekend!
Glad you’re feeling better
Ahh, i love all the food you brought back!!! Extreme packing skills, right there!! Enjoy the pumpkin butter, girl scout cookies (thin mints!!) & cereal!
ps-i can only eat goji berries when mixed in with trail mix (they taste good when combined with nuts, carob chips or cereal) or in some oatmeal with peanut butter!! You’re right-cant’ eat them plain!!
Glad you’re feeling better! Aww how sweet of mom to iron ur PJs!
woohoo! girl scout cookies!!
If I worked for the TSA and saw that suitcase come by on the belt, I would so take it and smuggle it home for myself. Good work, my friend. Yum!
How *do* moms get that nice laundry smell?
I don’t iron Bobby’s shirts… and neither does he
I suppose if he ever gets a job where he has to wear ironed shirts I would though. He’s just never really had the need.
Oh no… I think I missed girl scout cookie season. Wah!!
Girl needs her Barney Butter!! I hope you popped those Thin Mints in the freezer – best way to eat them
I am sooo ridiculously jealous of your food loot!! Looove Girl Scout cookies… ONLY on occasion of course
haha. Happy to hear you’re feeling better!!!!
That stash of food looks so great – I love bringing back tons of food from trips. Cute PJ’s!

What is it about that “Mom laundry smell”? I can never replicate it either.
Mmmm, Thin Mints. Nothing like a frozen Thin Mint. Nice stash Lara!
Oh, and I never thought to shove clothes into my shoes while packing. Brilliant!
Ah, you have learnt your packing skills well my apprentice!
