Yum! All of your grandma’s food looks delicious! Our family dinners were never that big! Looks fun. And I have yet to try chicken apple sausage….

  2. Aww your grandma is so cute! That feast looks delicious.

I have actually never been to a TJ, but that sausage sure does look yummy!

  3. Diana says:

Wow, that’s a lot of food! And everything looks yummy :)

  4. Love the spread of delicious eats at Grandma’s house! Don’t worry about the blog world Lara.. you’ve got more important things going on! :) I’m sure once you’re back here across the pond you’ll get caught up on things.

  5. Matthew (the Husband) says:

Wow! I just had dinner, but now I’m hungry again! Can you package up some of Nene’s food and bring it back for me?!

  6. Lauren says:

What a splendid family dinner and what an adorable grandma you have! I’m sure she was thrilled to be able to make all of your favorites. Grandmas live for this!

Glad you are enjoying your stay. :)

  7. Jenna says:

That apple sausage sounds superb! I haven’t ever seen those at TJ’s, but I must look harder now :)

  8. That dinner spread looks incredible, and your gma is ADORABLE! Cooking lessons from grandmas are the best :)

I love big family dinners like that. It’s always an awesome food spread and lots of wine :)

  11. Emily says:

wow, what a spread! family dinners are the best :)

I wish I could fill you in the blog world haps, but I’m a bit behind on the old google reader myself. and no excuses, cos I had a pretty dull weekend myself :P

  12. I agree family dinners are the BEST. There’s something about things that grandmas make that always taste good…and you really don’t care how she cooked it or what she put in it, as long as you get some!

As for the blog world, I’m still MIA and we need the Blogstalker back too, no?

  13. I just bought that sausage to try! It looks great!

Sounds like you had a great family meal =)

  14. What I wouldnt give to be able to watch my grandma(s) cook. They are both gone and were gone before I really realized that I love to un/raw cook. I wish I could be with them in the kitch! You havent missed anything in the bloggie world my dear. You should savor this time with your fam :)
    xoxo

  15. Crazy gorgeous spread of food! Jealous!

  16. Gina says:

Talk about some talent in the kitchen! The food looks amazing. The tomato beef dish has my name written all over it. I love that combination.

I have yet to try the TJs sausages but I always see them and debate whether to get them. I should!! Thanks for the recommendation.

  17. K says:

Can’t beat grandma’s cooking!! I think what makes it so special is that it makes you all nostalgic :)

What’s going on in blog world? Well, let’s see, I’m engaged, my parents won the lottery, and we all agreed you have gorgeous cheekbones. Okay so MAYBE only the last one is true (check out Erin’s latest make up video for the details)!

  18. kelsey says:

Your grandma is SO CUTE. I wish she could give me a big hug right now, since my grandma is gone and I’m so freaking sick. :(

I am bustin’ a 101.5 degree fever!! WHAT!?

Anyway, on my blog, the only news is that I started a 30 day fitness challenge for the month of October called the “Rocktober Challenge” (get it?) ;)

  19. april says:

    Your grandma is adorable!

Lets see.. not too much is new on my blog except for I talked about a little protein challenge I did and how it helped me lose body fat! Other than that you haven’t missed much!

  20. sue says:

  21. Melissa S. says:

  22. Michelle says:

Ahhhhh lara, I loooove your pictures from the extended family dinner!! It reminds me SO much of when I go to my grandma’s in Taiwan. There are more than 10 of us at one dining table and a huge variety of food. I used to love the lotus root stirfry that I see there. :P A dish you didn’t care much for…hahhaah but YUM!!

Oh I totally saw those sausages at TJ’s today. There were so many flavors I didn’t know which one to get. Now I know to buy the apple flavored one! Thanks Lara!!!

  23. Katharina says:

I like Grandma’s kitchen!!! What a delicious feast :D Hmm.. lots of love is being spread around the blogworld, and everyone is being inspired by fall eats.

  24. EatingRD says:

I have had that sausage, so good! I also like the basil one I think it is. Wow, so many dishes, and such a wonderful time with the fam :) I’m still trying to get caught up on blogs too!

  25. Wow. All the food your grandmother prepared looks amazing!

  26. Awww, grandma’s kitchen … that’s awesome!! :)

  27. Allison says:

  29. OMG can i come over next time you havea fam get together?? thanks so much :)

everything looks sooo good!!! and all teh fresh veggies make my mouth water!

  30. Your grandma is too adorable! Nice feast!! I LOVE trader joe’s chicken sausage but have never had that flavor! I always get Italian, Garlic, or Sundried tomato – FABULOUS! (oddly I rarely have it for breakfast either – I use it more in pastas and such). I’ve been slow on blog world too! haha

  31. Grandma’s cooking is the best, yes? I have no idea what’s going on in the blog world–only my own…and now yours I guess too :) Loved your guest post on Janetha’s blog xoxo

  32. Weekly Bite says:

I LOVE Trader Joe’s Apple Sausage! My favorite way to eat it is in a whole wheat hot dog bun with a tiny bit of Grey Poupon and feta cheese…. might sound gross, but its sooo good!

  33. I go through sausage phases – I think it’s my body telling me I need more salt, and I like to buy them at TJ’s b/c they don’t come with pork casings. Why cover a chicken sausage with pork? If I wanted pork sausage, then I would buy it, ya know?

Wow, very impressed with your Grandmother’s spread. She’s so cute too.

  34. erika says:

Going to gradma’s for dinner is the best! My gram does not cook anymore, but I have great memories of her Sunday dinners. I am not a huge sausage person, the chicken are good though. Although during one of my pregnancies, all I craved and ate were full fat italian sausages. Grosses me out just thinking about it! :)

  35. m i c h e l l e says:

Your grandmother’s food looks soooo good! (and the turkey looks great too).

I couldn’t even imagine having authentic Chinese food cooked in a home kitchen and eating it right then and there! Sounds so luxurious! :-)

My dh eat TJ’s sausages all the time. They’re good aren’t they?

  36. linda says:

I hope you post those videos and stories from your visit with your grandmother. My grandma passed when I was a kid so I never had a chance to get her recipes, but all those dishes look familiar and it’s making me hungry now…

  37. bhealthier says:

awww, your g-ma is too cute!
