Special Post: The Organic Food Festival (09/07/08)
[album=1,extend]
We spent most of Sunday afternoon at the Bristol Organic Food Festival. It’s a great two-day event hosted by the Soil Association, where tons of organic vendors come and participate to raise awareness about the benefits of organic living and supporting local businesses. Although many of the vendors are actually not local at all, there is a huge local presence and it’s really nice that the whole community really comes together. Among the hundreds of tents where exhibitors would pass out samples and sell their products (usually at a discount), there were plenty of scheduled events like cooking classes, demonstrations, musicians, and competitions. It was packed full of people, including children, with great-smelling food everywhere we turned! What a shame that we ate lunch just before arriving, but of course I had a little room still for some sampling…

From left to right: mini-strawberry yogurt, mini-cheese stick, “milkshake” sample (nonfat milk, banana, plain yogurt), rice pudding sample, vegetarian chili sample, dark chocolate
